p style=”text-align:justify;”>
My Take on the Product:
I loved the packaging right from the box in which the bottle of serum was packed to the bottle itself. the colour combination of blue, black and gold gives it a royal look. however the dropper broke while I tried to open it up , which was disappointing, as I had to hunt for a substitute.

<

p style=”text-align:justify;”>The details of the product are on the bottle itself which I good, as most of the times I throw the packaging and I have to hunt for details online later on.
Serums have been on my mind lately and it is really hard to find good affordable ones. However, the word serum always makes me feel that the product will be light on the skin, will not make the skin feel oily and the consistency would be thinner compared to other products.

The Vitamin C serum is medium in consistency. I have tried a serum from the brand ” the Ordinary” and it was thicker in consistency. I had stopped using the serum as Mangalore is hot and humid and applying serums and then moisturising would just make me feel hot and want to rinse my face off. However the monsoons have begun and its time for the serums and moisturisers!!!

The serum despite being thick, blends into the skin well and vanishes in a few minutes! Obviously, the effects of any serum wont be seen in a day or a week. Try it out for a month or so and you’ll definitely notice an improvement in your skin. The scars fade off and lighten, the fine lines reduce and you will love your skin.

<

p style=”text-align:justify;”>For those with oily skin, try the serum at night. If you feel it makes your skin feel heavy, don’t use a moisturizer. let the skin get used to your routines and then you can introduce a moisturiser slowly when the weather changes. Monsoons and winters are best for heavy-duty skin care. In summers, stick to basics and try few products.
For those with dry skin, you will love the product and may want to apply a moisturizer as well.

<

p style=”text-align:justify;”>Pros:
– 100 % organic, vegetarian,Handmade and paraben-free
– Attractive Packaging
– Travel friendly
– Good and affordable product in the serums segment to begin with
– Nice Citric Fragrance
– Gives the skin a glow
– No breakouts and suits all skin type
– Fades dark spots and acne scars

<

p style=”text-align:justify;”>Cons:
– The dropper broke when I tried to fix it.

Overall, the product range from Ryaal is affordable and good for beginners and those who love organic products. I love the products from the brand and look forward to new launches (maybe in the bath and body segment!). Let me know about your experiences with the product and brand 🙂

Hope the review helped you!

<

p style=”text-align:justify;”>
As a face mask, you need to apply it onto your face and allow it to dry up. As you rinse it off with water, gently rub the product in circular motion and then rinse it off completely.

<

p style=”text-align:justify;”>
Coffee is supposed to help in lightening pigmentation, scars and brightening the skin. The scrub serves the purpose. I use it once a week and a lot of dark spots have lightened.
It makes the skin more bright and radiant.

<

p style=”text-align:justify;”>Pros:
– Highly effective in lightening the dark spots and pigmentation.
– it is 100% handmade and vegetarian.
-doesn’t dry the skin like most of the other scrubs.( the other scrub which I recommend is the almond shea and rose from Juicy Chemistry).
– Doesn’t irritate the skin (especially the coffee granules)
– effective as a Deep Cleanser and gets rid of Blackheads.
-Love the coffee fragrance

<

p style=”text-align:justify;”>Cons:
-Overpowering Coffee fragrance which can be an issue for those who dislike coffee or have a sensitive nose.
-Comes in a tub- please pack in a spatula team !!! Its a little unhygienic if it has to be used by all.
-The products are available online and not in stores in the market.

So, this product is my Favourite and I recommend this one to all the coffee lovers and also the non-coffee lovers!!!! Please go and try this out!!! A must have scrub in your kin care regime. Though this was a PR sample, this product is gonna be on my repurchase list!

Sorich Organics Juniper Berry Seeds

The word “Berry” makes everything seem sweet and merry. However, please don’t pop one of these berries into your mouth just on hearing the word “berry”, as your tastebuds might be in for a surprise!!! Juniper Berries aren’t really berries. These berries are not  true berries but a cone with unusually fleshy and merged scales, which give it a berry-like appearance. They are bitter to taste and are best used in marinades and in meat dishes. Juniper berries traditionally have been used to “detoxify” the body and promote healthy digestion and skin health.

More about the Berries:

Juniper berries are the key flavoring in gin, which was originally known as jenever (“juniper”) and was developed in the Netherlands. Juniper berries were used in cooking and for medicinal purposes in ancient Egypt, ancient Greece, and ancient Rome, and have been found in India and other Asian cultures as well.

Juniper has a piney taste with citrus overtones (sometimes compared to rosemary) and is a common ingredient in German food. Juniper berries are a pungent spice that is popular in European cuisine and also gives gin its distinguishing flavor.

Juniper berries are tiny cones of the juniper bush (a relative of the popular landscaping shrub). Most juniper berries used in recipes come from the species Juniperus communis, a plant that grows in northern climates. Not all juniper berries are edible, some berries are toxic.

You can purchase the product via Amazon.in or head to the webpage of SorichOrganics and get in touch with the team.

  • Juniper berries are a source of vitamin C.
  • Juniper berries are rich in antioxidants that might protect your body from oxidative damage. Adding more antioxidant rich foods to your diet may reduce your risk of heart disease and certain types of cancer.
  • It is a natural antiseptic with anti fungal and antibacterial properties.
  • It may help improve digestion.
  • It helps improve skin conditions like eczema, vitiligo and rashes.
  • can be included as part of a diabetic diet plan

Precautions while using Juniper Berries:

  • Pregnant women should never consume juniper berries in whole or essential oil form as it may potentially cause damage to the unborn child or force uterine contractions.
  • Juniper is also not recommended for those with poor kidney function.
  • It is possible to develop an allergic reaction to juniper berries, which could manifest with skin issues (like a rash) or breathing issues. If you experience any of those conditions after using juniper berries, discontinue use and consult your doctor immediately.
  • Juniper berries may also interact negatively with certain medications, so if you are on any form of medication, you should first consult with your doctor before using juniper berries or juniper berry essential oil.

How to Use Juniper Berries:

If you want a strong juniper aroma and flavor to your dish, crushing fresh berries before adding them to a sauce or marinade is the way to go.

For a more subtle flavor, you can toast the berries, but be careful not to burn them or they’ll taste bitter.

To crush the berries, put a tablespoon or so in a zippered bag and lightly smash them with a meat mallet, hammer or wine bottle. Once they’re flattened, dump them on a cutting board and chop them finely with a chef’s knife before adding to your dish or marinade.

Whole or crushed, juniper berries add a lot of flavor. But you’ll want to be careful when first trying them in a recipe to find the smallest amount to get the most flavor. Too much juniper berry can overpower all the other flavors. As a flavor enhancer , they work best in savory dishes. Try them in a stew or add to your chicken before roasting. The berries pair really well with game, such as venison or duck.

What to cook with Juniper Berries:

Juniper is commonly used with lamb (or mutton) and is particularly good with venison, wild boar, and even domestic pork. You could even add them to a pot of chili, to give a rustic flavor that complements ground smoked chile peppers. Juniper is also a good flavoring to use with roast duck.

To bring out juniper berries’ slight citrus flavor, most recipes call for another fruit such as apples or prunes to be added. You can rub crushed juniper berries into a meat of your choosing before roasting it. Add a little ginger or garlic to the rub for a savory flavor. Or you can stew the berries before marinating or basting the meat with them.

Product Review: Quinoa Seeds From Sorich Organics

Healthy food has become the need of the day. Quinoa is one such seed which is widely used in breakfast bowls, of which, amazing pictures are posted on instagram, which makes you want to try it out as well. So here I am with a packet of quinoa in my hand, all set to create a breakfast bowl with an instagram picture to kill for!!!! 😀  The Indian version would make Quinoa look like Upma! The breakfast bowls look amazing though:

About the Plant:

I must say, as I searched for the Quinoa Plant , the photographs of the plant were stunning. The plant itself is so colourful and doesn’t appear to be a superfood plant!! As I first saw the pictures, I assumed it to be a flowering plant that could be used for floral decorations.  Have a look at these pictures:

Quinoa, (Chenopodium quinoa), plant species grown for its tiny edible seeds. As a member of the Amaranthaceae family, quinoa is not a true cereal. Its seeds are high in protein and fibre, and its young leaves are also nutritious and can be eaten as a vegetable similar to spinach (to which it is related). The plant is native to the Andean region of South America, where it has been a staple crop for millennia. Touted for its health benefits, quinoa is now grown in a number of countries around the world, including the United States, Canada, Italy, Sweden, and India, but most of it is still grown in Peru and Bolivia.

After harvest, the seeds are processed to remove the bitter-tasting outer seed coat. Versatile for many dishes, cooked quinoa supplies nutrient content similar to wheat and rice, such as moderate amounts of protein, dietary fiber, and minerals. Quinoa is gluten-free.

Quinoa is a little expensive and that might refrain you from making a purchase. But yes, you could give it a try and then decide if you would want to continue with the product. Or maybe you could purchase this once in two months if you like it 🙂

Buy the seeds from Amazon.in or visit the brand webpage www.sorichorganics.com to get in touch with the team. To know more about the brand, Click Here.

Product Review: Sorich Organics Halem Seeds

The word “Halem” gives a very Middle-East feeling to me, and maybe to you as well right? I just wondered while I looked at the packet of Halem Seeds, as to what in the world was Halem seeds??  On getting a few of these seeds on my palm, the colour of the seeds are reddish-brown. They have a peppery , tangy taste  which I didn’t quite like. The seeds have derived names like cress, garden pepper cress, pepperwort cress, pepperwort pepper grass, mustard and cress or poor man’s pepper, due to this peppery flavour.

About The Plant:
So yes, although I didn’t like the taste, and before the seeds went to some corner in the kitchen cupboards, I did some research about this plant and I found it quite interesting. I look forward to using these seeds in my daily cooking as well!
cress
Garden cress has tiny, meaty, slightly elongated green leaves and long white-green, feeble-looking stems with stringy white roots. It is readily available in the form shouts and best harvested when the shouts reach 5-10 cm in height. If left to mature, the plant can easily reach 50-60 cm in height. There are several varieties available, including wrinkled or crinkled ones (called as such as a result of their curled leaves). Seeds are tiny and red brown in color and are used as seasoning in Asian cooking under the name ‘haloon’, where they are almost just as popular as garden cress itself.
Both the leaves and seeds are used for seasoning dishes. Garden cress leaves have a peppery, sharp flavor, similar to that of radishes. However, growing conditions can influence their flavor to some extent. For instance, growing the plant in pots, bowls or even flat plates and keeping it on your windosill will help temper its flavor and make it milder-tasting. Garden cress can even be sprouted from seeds on wet or moist paper towels or cotton wads.
So, if you wish to try out these seeds and add some zing into your daily cooking , head to Amazon.in and get yourself a pack of Sorich Organic Halem Seeds. Else you can check out their website www.sorichorganics.com and get in touch with the team. You can read more about this brand here.

Product Review: Sorich Organics Gond Katira Superfood

I had never heard of this term itself. This product was introduced to me via Sorich Organics and  the benefits of this product blew my mind away. Obviously excess of any product can just cause trouble, and that is applicable to this product as well. The sap is known for its cooling and heating properties and yes, its healing properties as well.

This is a viscous water soluble mixture. It also well known for containing with high amount of protein in it. It doesn’t have its own odor and taste.

I’m sure you all would be interested to know what the plant is, its benefits ,uses and healing properties. So, lets get right into the facts 🙂

About the Plant:

Tragacanth is an amazing herb obtained from the sap of legume plant that contains wonderful benefits. This herb comes from a shrub which is easily found in mid-east, Iran, Iraq and in some western parts of Asia as well.
